Day 17: Nevada

Ok, technically we went through a slice of California first (didn't take pictures), and technically this is the Nevada sign in Death Valley and should go at the end of the page (we missed the sign going in). But it's the same as the sign we saw first so who cares.

There might be a story about this car. But if I tried to remember and write it here I could have my license revoked.

Vegas, baby.

Vegas, baby, Vegas. (We didn't actually stop here, we just wanted to drive through the strip. Little did we know it would be gridlock the whole way. We took a bunch of pictures through the windsheild.

Here's Mandalay Bay. Vegas is the only city on Earth where people come and stay in the hotels so that they can wander around and take pictures of the hotels.

A genuine Egyptian obelisk.

The Great Pyramid.

MGM Grand.

More Egyptian stuff at Luxor.
Hey, so THAT'S what that haze is! The frigging Grand Canyon is on fire.

Hey, we're back home!

Bellagio.

Hail Caesar! Hail Celine!

The Venetian and that new hotel where, in the commercial, the owner stands astride his towering ego.

Just how we like 'em.

It's the CN tower!

Only mildly creepy.

One of the original Vegas casinos.

How romantic!

Bye, cowboy! Bye, Vegas!

The barren Nevada desert.

Our hotel outside Death Valley, right next to a bangin' candy and nut store. Those flavored tootsie rolls and pumpkin seeds lasted us the rest of the trip.

Day 18: July 15, 2005

The long road into Death Valley...

Next: California
