Day 27: July 24, 2005
Glacier National Park

Welcome... to Glacier Park!

A log stuck in this raging torrent.

Some little waterfalls.

Another view of the same stream.

Further up stream, we pull over and climb down to the stream bed to get
pictures and illegally collect some rocks.

The view upstream.

Nops peruses the rock selection.

Clouds around the mountains.

The Glacier Park red transports.

A very tall waterfall seen from a distance.

Another view of the waterfall.

Mountain flora.

Looking back down at the river valley.

Close up of that one waterfall.

A different waterfall that cuts down below the road.

We dubbed that large snow-filled rift to the left the Earth's Asscrack.

A view across the valley. Thee pictures don't really do it justice.

Nops climbs the stairs on the way up to an overlook.

This area of the park was covered with all kinds of wildflowers.

...Including these weird Dr. Seuss flowers.

Close up of the foilage.

Vertigo-inducing look down past a tree and into the valley floor below.

A more clear shot across the valley.

Around the overlook, we saw a few of these weird giant woodchuck things.

Turns out they were marmots. Look at the marmot!

Odd flowers, trees, and clouds.

A field of flowers.

Martinek strolls along the roadside. Montana was probably the coldest part
of the whole trip.

The park's namesake--the glacier itself.

We got a better view of the lake n our way out.
