I don't know why I even used this as the first comic. quite frankly a lot of the older drawings in the Special Features section are much funnier. I think the main reason is that I just watched Four Rooms and needed to have Sage reference the goddess Diana in perhaps the single most obscure inside reference ever conceived by the mortal mind. Also the first strip should really set up characters, and from this we learn that Sage is a Wiccan and Psycho smokes weed. Even though he doesn't and that's never brought up ever again. Actually I think I based this on an RP where everyone thinks Sage's herbs are pot and tries to score some, but I can't remember who wrote it so I won't give them a writing credit. EAT THAT SUCKERS! Anyway the drawing is crap-fucking-tacular, inked using the most shabby and amateurish method possible, and it's not even particularly funny.

I don't know why I went with the yellow walls thing. I used that color scheme ever since and nobody's complained so far, so I guess it's here for keeps. I should point out some other color choices... Psycho's outfit it based directly on that of the wrestler Rhyno. His hair is brown rather than black to invoke Shaggy. Sage's outfit is inspired by the one Willow wears in one episode of "The Erotic Adventures of Buffy and Evil Vampire Willow", an old webcomic drawn by Anne-Lise and Fox. It was basically a green t-shirt with a purple pentagram/female symbol combo.

Honestly, for a first comic, this isn’t bad. Most comics start off introducing millions of characters, but the XWF already did that. I enjoy the reference to Psycho being a pothead…although another current WWE, former XWF star might resent that…let’s call him Rob V. D…no that’s to obvious, we’ll just call him R. Van Dam. Sage is a very popular character who I really enjoyed working with, and is probably the only character who can go from super evil to pure good in one show. And hey Matt, don’t be so down. I laughed. Come on, it’s Psycho! Overall, good job. Not the funniest, but definitely not the worst idea. And hey, it was the start. Cut the man a break. I have no idea who I’m talking to, so I’ll just shut up.
