     The first two PH strips feature characters called "Guy" and "The Dude". This is when it was only based on the 919 crew, rather than directly copying them. Guy, on the couch, was pretty much a combo of me an Nops, while the dude was Neetch and Mas. "Janie" was going to be a combination of several girls.
