The Darchives

Armchair paleontology in-jokes at their worst. If you don't visit Gondolend or subscribe to the DML or know what either of those things are, don't bother.Az-Dar: Behind the Mayhem

AZ-DAR ORIGINALS

Comic 1
Basically just a title page. Az-Dar tagging the side of a building and getting caught by a ticked-off Citipati.

Comic 2
Meet Jurassic Jack Blaze. I always have characters named Blaze in most crap I do, so why not comics? Here he's sort of a Steve Irwin type zookeeper. The don't mess with the hat thing is a reference to a line Post Grant was responsible for getting into Jurassic Park 3 via a message board.

Comic 3
This comic is a rip-off of the Tom Green Show. Notice Struthio with a cup of coffee just laughing his ass off the whole time, much like Phil Giroux. It's also to show that Jack Horner is a sellout and doesn't know what he's talking about.

Comic 4
In-jokes galore. That's  pretty good illustration of my dorm room in Nevils Hall sophomore year when I drew this comic. Notice the Tea Party and Lita posters and UFX on my computer monitor. The second panel is a rip-off of the characters from the Clerks cartoon series. Third is a scene of Mabon and Fflewdder (me and my bro's EverQuest characters) in the East Commons where Az-Dar gets attacked by a griffin like any dumbass newbie would. Next is a scene from the WWF, with Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan in the ring, King and JR announcing, and Jeff Hardy up on the turnbuckle in the distance. Next is as if Az-Dar was put in one of my "real" drawings. Finally we see a caricature of a bunch of members from the Gondolend message board community. It would take forever to explain the jokes in this one panel!
